Iulia Kiraly brings nearly two decades’ of experience in the commodity sector to her role as Group Head of Legal and Compliance at BB Energy. She leads the legal team at BB Energy following a successful career in private practice including at Reed Smith LLP. Her expertise is diverse and includes shipping and commodity trading, cross-border M&A, corporate restructuring projects, and finance. Iulia holds an MBA in Business Administration and an MA in Law. She is a qualified solicitor in England & Wales and Romania, as well as a certified Mediator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb).
In addition to her legal and compliance duties, Iulia has been deeply involved in BB Energy’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. She has played a crucial role in overseeing compliance and control over the Group’s charitable activities, ensuring that all giving practices adhere to the highest standards of governance and ethical conduct.
Iulia was instrumental in establishing the BB Energy Foundation, where she is responsible for the Foundation’s governance and compliance, working closely with the other Foundation administrators. Her commitment to CSR is evident in her dedication to enhancing the welfare of communities through structured and compliant philanthropic efforts. Under her guidance, the BB Energy Foundation focuses on impactful giving, that supports sustainable development and positive change. Her work ensures that BB Energy’s charitable activities are not only effective but also aligned with the group’s values and long-term goals.
